(fuer deutschsprachige Informationen siehe http://FreieComputer.ch )

Everyone who is interested is invited to a FreieComputer.ch project
meeting on Sunday June 17, at 18:00 in the offices of Revamp-it
at Rosengartenstrasse 1, Zurich (there's a map on their website
http://www.revamp-it.ch/ )

Background info:

The idea of the FreieComputer.ch project is to promote free software
and open standards by making free software based computers more
available and supported in Switzerland.

Based on the discussions which we've had so far, it appears that the
project's focus will be threefold:

1) Maintain a selection of software from a reasonably well-known
and reasonably novice-friendly GNU/Linux distro (probably
Kubuntu) which will be pre-installed on the "FreieComputer.ch"
computers sold by the project's "computer shop" and "distributor"
partners. (The difference between these two is that a "computer
shop" sells to end users, while a "distributor" sells to computer
shops. Revamp-it is planning to participate in the project as a
   "computer shop" partner.)

2) Organize a decent support service for these computers.

3) Marketing.

If you'd like to be involved, please subscribe to the project's
team mailing list at http://freiecomputer.ch/mailman/listinfo/team

Greetings,
Norbert.
