Hallo,

gestern in Bern waren wir immerhin zu dritt, Myriam Schweingruber, 
Sylvan Gebhardt, und ich.

Wir sind dabei im grossen und ganzen zu folgendem Ablauf gekommen:

- Die einzelnen LUGs sollten etwas organisieren (im Moment wissen wir 
von Kreuzlingen, hoffentlich Zürich, Bern, Fribourg sowie  
Genf/Lausanne). Diese Events werden so organisiert, dass man (vermittels 
Internet) WebCasts bzw. VoIP Streams (bzw. ganz allgemein) miteinanader 
in Kontakt steht.

-Bei den einzelnen Events geht es um das Handout von CDs, bzw. die 
Hilfestellung/Information über Freie Software im allgemeinen, und 
GNU/Linux im besonderen. Dabei wollen wir uns auf einige wenige 
Distributionen beschränken. Konkret, ist im Moment davon die Rede, kein 
OpenSuSE, und kein Mandriva einzusetzen, da diese Firmen durch ihre 
Politik den Begriff der Freien Software verwässern und man dies nicht 
unbedingt unterstützen muss.  Wenn man entsprechende Leute findet, 
sollte man auch Vorträge machen (die allerdings auf Einsteiger 
abgestimmt sind, z.B. zum Einsatz von OpenOffice.org im Büroalltag).

-Von den angestrebten Distris weden eir einige CDs, evtl. sogar DVDs 
brauchen.Brennen vor Ort wird warsch (aus Zeitgründen) ziemlich 
unmöglich sein.

-Nicht nur an Intel/I386 denken, AMD64/em64T, ujnd Mac PPC sollten auch 
unterstützt werden.

-Generally we should focus on promoting the awareness for Free Software 
in general, and GNU Linux in particlular.
-We hope to get this through a common event, organised by the different 
Linux User Groups (so far we know something will be happening in 
Kreuzlingen, In Zürich, in Bern, in Fribourg, and in Geneva). The 
different events will link to each other through the use of WebCasts (or 
Voice-over-IP-Techology), or generally, the Internet.

-Each event should ofcus on promotion of the awareness, by handing out 
CDs/DVDs ands giving information about GNU Linux. Since there are a 
myriad of distributions out there, we should focus on only a few of 
them. At the moment, the idea is to not distribute Mandriva or OpenSuSE, 
since those firms have a rather sloppy use of the term Free Software. We 
do not need to support that, given there are free alternatives. The 
event can be complemented by information speeches about using Free 
Software (focused on those new to FS, eg. using OpenOffice.org in 
everyday office use...)

- Once we have settled on the distributions to support, we will need 
quite a few CDs/DVDs of those.
-Not only think about the Wintel architecture, also try to support EM64T 
and Mac PPC.
-We will need sponsors.


So far so good, thats just what I grasped...
