Certainly, but that would be done by our PR manager Michael Jäger, who
has much more experience in that matter as well as the necessary
contacts. The professional way to do this to send a press statement
along with background information to the right people ahead (but not too
far ahead) of time. Such things have to be prepared first.

Never mind, mentioning it on this list is also far from privacy: more
than 100 people read the stuff that we post here. Our inquiries were
also done before I posted my call for action.

Both variants are possible. I have no information to back up either one.
However, it doesn't really matter. I think it is totally unsuitable to
have commercial ads on a government web site. What's the next step? Ads
on voting ballots? Like "The gene-initiative - brought to you by
Novartis"?
