Hallo Myriam,

da Du das Thema angesprochen hast, möchte ich mich Deiner Meinung
offiziell anschliessen. Dazu ein Zitat aus einem Vortrag von Robert
J. Chassell (http://www.teak.cc/Speech-new-economy.html) - oder auf
deutsch (http://www.teak.cc/Speech-new-economy-de.html)
------------------

Incidentally, Eric Raymond and Bruce Perens invented the phrase `open
source' a few years ago as a synonym `free software'. They wanted to
work around the dislike many companies have of the word `free'. The
phrase is popular; Eric and Bruce succeeded in their purpose.

However, I (and now, Bruce also) prefer the term `free software'
since it better conveys the goal of freedom; the proposition that
every man and woman, whereever he or she lives, the right to do first
rate work, and must not be forbidden from doing so.

------------------

Soweit ich es überblicke ist es in der Tat so, dass die FSF nicht
mehr von Open Source spricht und schreibt, sondern korrekter Weise
von 'Freier Software'. Ich denke, dass uns das nicht auf die Füsse
fallen wird, es ebenso zu tun. Besonders, da wir ja eher
Organisationen ansprechen, die sich vom Wort 'frei' nicht abschrecken
lassen sollten.

Viele Grüssse,
Manfred.
