Thank you Michel for this stirring account, which will take a while to
digest and discuss.

In the meantime I can comment only on a technical aspect, as I am now
working myself on a LTSP client. Setting up the LTSP on Kubuntu was not
easy and I needed several hours help from Amadeus. As you say, Michel,
there are problems with hardware compatibility mainly with graphic cards
and network cards and BIOS, especially for PXE booting, that is booting
without a boot disc. Some things I still havnt solved.

The Linuxola principle is to set things up in Switzerland so that they
will work out of the container. This is nice in theory, but I expect at
times things will not work that way, as your story shows. I think we
need to discuss fallbacks.

Another problem you pointed out with languages. Many people speak
English, but it is often really a dialect of English. When two people
speak different dialects it is difficult to communicate even if it is
the same base language. I expect it is the same with French. Maybe
eventually we can at least use software as a translating tool. Already
now email programs come with spelling checkers which would help a lot
for written communication.
